Overview
The Prima Power easyForm is a series of servo-electric CNC press brakes designed to replace hydraulic press brakes with a more energy-efficient, precise, and maintenance-friendly alternative. Available in 50-ton to 220-ton configurations, the easyForm series uses a direct-drive servo system that delivers bending force only when needed, consuming up to 75% less energy than equivalent hydraulic models during typical sheet metal bending cycles. The all-electric drive eliminates hydraulic oil completely, removing the risk of oil contamination on precision sheet metal parts for food processing equipment, medical devices, and cleanroom fabrication. The easyForm features Prima Power's CADMAN-B software with automatic compensation for sheet springback, bend angle verification via the integrated Lazy Eye optical sensor system, and full part programming from imported SolidWorks and DXF files. The 6-axis backgauge allows complex multi-step bend sequences without operator repositioning of the workpiece.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 75% energy saving vs hydraulic equivalents reduces operating cost significantly
- Oil-free design suitable for food, medical, and cleanroom environments
- Lazy Eye optical bend angle sensor eliminates scrap from springback variation
- CADMAN-B software imports 3D models and calculates bend sequences automatically
- Servo-electric drive delivers precise ram positioning without hydraulic drift
Limitations
- Higher upfront cost than equivalent hydraulic press brakes
- Electric servo drive has power limits at very large tonnages (>300 ton)
- CADMAN-B software requires training for complex multi-bend programming
- Repair of servo drive components requires specialized Prima Power technicians

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The easyForm servo-electric drive achieves comparable or faster cycle times on standard bends due to higher ram acceleration. On very thick or high-tonnage bends, hydraulic machines may deliver faster approach but servo-electric is faster overall in typical production cycles.
02
The Lazy Eye is Prima Power's optical bend angle measurement system that monitors the bend angle in real time during the bending stroke, automatically adjusting ram position to compensate for springback variation in different material batches.
03
Yes. The easyForm accepts both European (Wila, Wilson) and American-style press brake tooling, giving shops flexibility in tooling sourcing. A quick-change tooling clamping system is optional.
