Overview
The Mazak INTEGREX i-300 sits between the i-200 and i-400 in Mazak’s multi-tasking lineup, filling the gap for shops that need more bar capacity and spindle torque than the i-200 but not the full envelope of the i-400. It’s a purpose-built 5-axis mill-turn center that consolidates turning, milling, drilling, tapping, and off-center machining into a single clamping.
You get a 658 mm (25.9 in) max machining diameter and 1,016 mm (40 in) max machining length, with a 10-inch chuck and 80 mm (3.15 in) bar capacity through an A2-8 spindle nose. The main turning spindle runs to 4,000 RPM with 26 kW (35 hp), offering more torque than the i-200’s 22 kW but not quite the i-400’s 30 kW, making it a balanced choice for medium-diameter work in steel and alloy materials.
The milling spindle hits 12,000 RPM with 18.5 kW (25 hp) through an HSK-A63 or Capto C6 interface. A 20,000 RPM option is available. The B-axis swings 240 degrees (-30 to +210) with roller cam drive and 0.0001-degree indexing resolution. Y-axis travel measures 230 mm (9.06 in), and the continuous C-axis provides 360-degree rotation.
Axis travels include 580 mm (22.8 in) on X and 1,100 mm (43.3 in) on Z, with rapids hitting 50 m/min (1,969 ipm). The standard 36-tool ATC handles most jobs, with 72 and 110-tool options. Current NEO-generation machines run on MAZATROL SmoothAi with Ai Thermal Shield. The i-300 weighs approximately 12,000 kg (26,455 lb).
The -S variant adds a second spindle, and the -ST adds both a second spindle and lower turret. Competitors include the DMG Mori CTX beta 1250 TC and Okuma Multus B300II. New machines run $300,000-$450,000. Used units from 2014-2020 trade $120,000-$300,000. Specs sourced from Mazak published data.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 10-inch chuck with 80 mm bar capacity bridges the gap between the i-200’s 65 mm and i-400’s 102 mm for a wider bar stock range
- 26 kW (35 hp) main spindle with 4,000 RPM provides balanced torque and speed for medium-diameter turning
- 240-degree B-axis with roller cam drive and 0.0001-degree resolution delivers zero-backlash positioning matching larger models
- 12,000 RPM HSK-A63 milling spindle delivers true machining center performance for milling, drilling, and tapping
- 50 m/min rapids keep non-cutting time competitive when cycling between operations
- 36-tool ATC expandable to 110 tools handles complex aerospace and medical parts
- Smaller footprint at 12,000 kg vs 15,500 kg for the i-400 while delivering substantially more capability than the i-200
Limitations
- 4,000 RPM main spindle is slower than the i-200’s 5,000 RPM, limiting high-speed small-diameter turning
- $300K-$450K is significant investment requiring consistent multi-operation parts to justify
- Programming complexity is high for simultaneous 5-axis; 3-6 months ramp-up for experienced programmers
- 12,000 kg requires proper foundation work and rigging
- 230 mm Y-axis travel is less than the i-400’s 250 mm or e-420H’s 420 mm for off-center work

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Base starts around $300,000. Production configs with 20K RPM milling spindle and 72-tool magazine run $370K-$450K. -S/-ST variants add $50K-$120K. Used 2014-2020 units sell $120K-$300K.
02
Same 25.9 inch swing but 10-inch chuck and 80 mm bar (vs i-200’s 8 inch/65 mm). Main spindle 4,000 RPM/26 kW, between the i-200’s 5,000/22 kW and i-400’s 3,300/30 kW. Choose when bar stock exceeds 65 mm but you do not need the i-400’s 102 mm or 60 inch length.
03
Base has single spindle with tailstock. -S adds second turning spindle for back-working. -ST adds second spindle plus lower turret for simultaneous cutting. ST is most capable but most complex to program.
04
MAZATROL handles basic work. Complex 5-axis uses Esprit, NX, or Mastercam with custom post processors that are notoriously hard to find for INTEGREX machines.
05
Yes. Pairs with bar feeders up to 80 mm diameter. SmoothAi provides tool life management for extended unmanned operation. -S variant enables both-end processing unattended.
