Overview
The Brother Speedio M200X3 is the compact multi-tasking mill-turn model in Brother's X3-generation Speedio lineup. It combines turning capability for parts up to 200 mm in diameter with full Speedio milling speed, all in a footprint smaller than most standalone lathes.
X/Y/Z travels are 200 x 440 x 305 mm. The milling spindle runs at 16,000 rpm with 6.0 kW on BT30 taper. A C-axis turning spindle handles parts up to 200 mm in diameter. The 21-tool turret delivers fast chip-to-chip changes consistent with other Speedio models.
Rapids are 50 m/min on X/Y and 56 m/min on Z. The CNC-C00 control handles C-axis interpolation and simultaneous mill-turn operations natively. Machine weight is approximately 2,900 kg.
The X3 generation delivers incremental servo and control improvements over the prior XD1 M200 model (M200Xd1). The compact footprint and combined mill-turn capability make the M200X3 a compelling choice for shops producing small to medium rotational parts that also require milled features.
The M200X3 competes with the Mazak Integrex i-100 and similar compact multitaskers but at a significantly lower price point.
New machines price $120,000-$165,000. Used units trade $55,000-$95,000.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Compact footprint combines mill and lathe operations in minimal floor space
- X3 generation control enhancements improve mill-turn programming ease
- 16,000 rpm milling spindle maintains Speedio speed advantage
- 0.9s tool change keeps milling cycle times competitive
- Lower price than comparable multitasking machines
- CNC-C00 native C-axis and live tooling support
Limitations
- 200 mm turning diameter is limited for larger rotational parts
- BT30 milling spindle constrains heavy cutting operations
- Smaller X-travel (200 mm) versus M300X3 limits milling range
- Not a substitute for a full-size multitasking machine or CNC lathe
- 21-tool capacity may restrict very complex mill-turn programs

Frequently Asked Questions
01
New $120,000-$165,000. Used $55,000-$95,000.
02
The X3 is the newer generation with updated control software and servo refinements. Specs are similar; choose X3 for new and Xd1 for used value.
03
200 mm (7.9 in). For parts over 200 mm, the M300X3 or a dedicated lathe is required.
04
Yes, C-axis is integrated on all M-series Speedio machines.
05
For small parts under 200 mm diameter, it can handle many lathe operations. For high-volume pure turning or large parts, a dedicated lathe remains more efficient.
