The Techni Waterjet i-Cut 5020 is a heavy-duty production abrasive waterjet cutting machine with a 5,000 x 2,000 mm cutting envelope, designed by Techni Waterjet in Australia for large-format industrial cutting applications. The i-Cut series represents Techni's flagship production platform, aimed at steel service centers, structural fabricators, shipbuilding suppliers, and heavy manufacturing operations that process large plate stock and require high throughput without sacrificing positioning accuracy.

The 5020's extended 5-meter X-axis is particularly well suited to handling full-length structural steel sheets, stainless plate in standard mill widths, and large aluminum tooling plate. The bridge-style gantry is constructed from fabricated steel with precision-machined bearing surfaces, providing rigid support across the full 5-meter span without deflection-induced positional error. Dual servo-driven ball screw drives on the X-axis maintain gantry squareness and synchronization at all traverse speeds, eliminating the racking that can affect positional accuracy on long-axis waterjet machines.

Positioning accuracy is ±0.05 mm with repeatability of ±0.025 mm — figures that meet the demands of structural fabrication, pressure vessel component cutting, and OEM production of large format machine parts. Maximum cutting traverse speed reaches 20,000 mm/min, enabling rapid repositioning between nest features on densely programmed large plate jobs. The i-Cut 5020 accepts Techni's optional multi-head kits, allowing two cutting heads to operate simultaneously on mirrored or ganged part programs to double throughput on high-volume orders.

Techni pairs the i-Cut 5020 with their direct-drive servo pump, available in 30 hp, 50 hp, and 75 hp configurations operating at up to 60,000 psi (4,137 bar). Techni's direct-drive pump eliminates the hydraulic intensifier circuit entirely, using a servo motor to drive the high-pressure cylinder directly.
