Overview
The Starrag LX 451 is a large-format 5-axis blade machining center for oversized turbine blades used in industrial gas turbines, steam turbines, and large aero-engine LP stages. Handles blades up to approximately 1,200 mm (47.2 in).
Features an 18,000 RPM HSK-A63 spindle delivering 35 kW (47 HP) for finishing, with optional higher-torque roughing. Axis travels: 1,500 mm (59.1 in) X, 1,000 mm (39.4 in) Y, 1,200 mm (47.2 in) Z.
Incorporates Reverse Cutter System (RCS) for trailing edge finishing, adaptive feed control, and Siemens SINUMERIK 840D sl. Ra < 0.6 um on large airfoil areas.
Gantry loaders and custom fixturing are typical. New machines: $1,500,000 to $2,500,000.
