Overview
The Nakamura-Tome WT-150II is a twin-spindle, twin-turret CNC turning center for high-production machining. Two spindles and two turrets complete parts in a single cycle, targeting automotive, medical, and precision component manufacturing.
Left spindle: 15 kW at 6,000 RPM, 51 mm bar capacity. Right sub-spindle matches at 6,000 RPM. Both have C-axis. Both 12-station turrets include live tooling and can cross over to either spindle. Index time 0.15 seconds.
Simultaneous machining on both spindles halves cycle time. Fanuc 31i-B control manages multi-channel operations. Optional Y-axis on upper turret. New WT-150II machines price $250,000-$400,000. Competes with Doosan TT 1800SY, Mazak QT 200MSY, Citizen Miyano BNJ-42.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Twin-spindle twin-turret simultaneous machining halves cycle time
- Both turrets cross over to either spindle for maximum flexibility
- 24 total live tool stations eliminate most secondary operations
- Automatic part transfer for complete front-and-back machining
- 0.15-second turret indexing minimizes non-cutting time
- Production reliability for 24/7 operation
Limitations
- Multi-channel programming requires experienced programmers and capable CAM
- $250,000-$400,000 needs production volumes to justify vs single-spindle
- Y-axis is optional extra cost
- 51 mm bar limits to small-medium work
- Smaller North American service network

Frequently Asked Questions
01
$250,000-$400,000 new. Standard ~$275,000-$325,000. With Y-axis/bar feeder $350,000-$400,000. Used $125,000-$250,000.
02
Upper turret machines next part on left spindle while lower turret finishes previous on right. Parts flow continuously.
03
Both twin-spindle twin-turret. Doosan often includes Y-axis standard. Nakamura-Tome has stronger accuracy reputation. Depends on dealer support.
04
Yes, for simultaneous two-tool cutting on one workpiece. Requires careful synchronization programming.
05
Optional on upper turret, +/- 40 mm for off-center features. Adds $25,000-$40,000.
