Overview

The Mazak VORTEX i-V is a vertical 5-axis machining center built for large, complex parts that exceed the work envelope of trunnion-style machines like the VARIAXIS. Instead of tilting the workpiece, the VORTEX i-V uses a B/C-axis nutating spindle head that tilts and rotates above a large fixed table, keeping heavy parts stationary while the tool approaches from any angle.

Four models span two pallet sizes: the i-630V/6 and i-630V/6S on a 630 x 630 mm (24.8 x 24.8 in) pallet, and the i-800V/8 and i-800V/8S on an 800 x 800 mm (31.5 x 31.5 in) pallet.
