Overview

The GF Machining Solutions AgieCharmilles FORM X 600 is the flagship sinker EDM — the most advanced die-sinking machine the company produces. With X/Y/Z travels of 600 x 400 x 500 mm and a workpiece capacity of 1,200 x 800 x 350 mm rated at 2,000 kg, the FORM X 600 addresses the full spectrum of mid-to-large precision mold and die applications.

The FORM X 600 incorporates the complete FORM X precision package: dielectric oil temperature stabilization to within ±0.5°C, the highest-resolution IPG available in the FORM series, and full ITM active compensation. The IPG achieves Ra 0.08 micron — optical-quality surfaces from the EDM.

The machine structure weighs 5,504 kg, providing mass and rigidity for micron-level positioning. The 900-liter dielectric system maintains stable gap conditions. The AC FORM CNC control supports AEC integration.

The FORM X 600 competes with the Makino EDAC4, Sodick AG60LP, and Mitsubishi EA24V. New machines are priced $250,000-$400,000.
