Overview
The AXYZ Trident is a production-grade dual-gantry CNC router system designed for high-volume sign making, display fabrication, and precision plastic and composite routing operations. The dual-gantry design allows independent motion of two router heads across the 5x10 foot (1524x3048mm) work area, enabling simultaneous machining of two separate workpieces or mirror-image cutting operations. Each gantry head carries AXYZ's VERSATIL tool changer system, automatically swapping between routing bits, diamond drag engravers, and knife tools without operator intervention. The heavy-duty steel welded base with vacuum zone hold-down provides consistent workpiece clamping across the full table area. The Yaskawa servo drives with linear guideways deliver positioning accuracy to ±0.1mm for precision signage, labels, and custom display parts. AXYZ provides North American sales and service through a dense dealer network focused on sign shops and commercial fabricators.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Dual gantry doubles throughput for sign and display fabrication
- VERSATIL toolchanger for automatic bit, engraver, and knife changeovers
- Strong North American dealer network and service response
- Vacuum zone system for consistent hold-down of sheet materials
- AXYZ Mentor control simple to learn for sign shop operators
Limitations
- Dual gantry increases machine complexity vs single gantry systems
- 3.5 HP spindle limits on hard materials vs Thermwood or Biesse
- Not suited for heavy aluminum or composite aerospace work

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The Trident has two independent router heads, each on its own gantry that spans the full table width. Each gantry can move independently along the table length (Y-axis) while each head moves independently in X and Z. This allows cutting two separate parts simultaneously or cutting mirror-image parts in parallel.
02
The Trident is optimized for sign and display materials: acrylic, PVC foam board, aluminum composite panel (ACP), HDU foam, MDF, plywood, and thin aluminum sheet. For harder materials or thicker aluminum, a more powerful industrial router like the Thermwood or Biesse Rover is recommended.
